Environmental Policy

We try to keep our environmental impact to a minimum and, in the past, we have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development for our low-impact policies and were voted best Sustainable Tourism Business in 2004 in the Arena Network Wales Environmental Awards.

Here is a summary of some of the measure we have taken:

- All our cottages have recycling facilities
- The farm and woodland are accredited by the Soil Association
- A Reedbed system purifies the waste water from the cottages
- Bio-mass burner heating system that runs on wood pellets and chips
- Carbon neutral policy – we run an annual tree-planting programme to balance out the carbon produced by visitors coming to Clynfyw
- We try to use eco friendly cleaning products & recycled refuse sacks
- Low energy light bulbs are used in all our cottages.
