Press Release: Celebration of an
Inclusive West Wales—Saturday 17th January 2014—part of the National
‘Disabled Access Day’ Program.
It sometimes feels like access, inclusion and social responsibility are
overlooked in tourism circles, but we believe they shouldn't be! So
many people depend on inclusive providers, and we want to help promote
that and celebrate their work.
There will be a information stands from tourism operators and
access/inclusion related providers and talks from diverse groups
including Pembrokeshire People First, Wales’ Disability Action Group,
Pembrokeshire County Council’s Head of Therapies, experts in Total
Communication, domiciliary care providers and a number of award winning
We have knowledgeable and inspiring speakers with decades worth of
personal experience of making our region more accessible and inclusive,
and even an advisor for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games!
There will also be a barbecue, teas, coffees and cakes available
throughout the day, as well as a farm walk so if people want to make a
day of it.
The Celebration will run from 10.30- 3.30. It is free for the public to
enter, while the cost of a promotional stand is £10 which goes towards
Clynfyw’s Wheelie Good Idea Project, sending refurbished wheelchairs
and mobility aids to Sub-Saharan Africa.
The celebration is hosted by Clynfyw Care Farm with support from
Pembrokeshire Tourism and Pembrokeshire County Council.

Saturday 20th June - Pembrokeshire People First Summer Fair hosted by Clynfyw.
Friday 10th July - Gingerbread - Coffee morning with guest speaker to be confirmed.
Friday 14th August - East African Cricket Foundation - Following last years successful event, we will be holding another cricket tournament at Llechryd Cricket Club. Please get in touch if you would like to field a team.
Friday 11th September - Newchapel Reading Room - Coffee morning with guest speaker to be confirmed.
Saturday 26th September - Harvest Festival - in aid of Pembrokeshire Food Bank
Friday 9th October - British Insititute of Human Rights - Coffee morning hosted by one of the British Institute of Human Rights Champions and another guest speaker to be confirmed.
Friday 13th November - Children in Need - Coffee morning with car washing, fancy dress and other fun and games!
Saturday 5th December - Pembrokeshire People First Christmas Fair hosted by Clynfyw.
Friday 11th December - Pembrokeshire Care Society - Coffee morning and a carol service!

Friday 9th May- Coffee morning in aid of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign raised (on the first day of a 2 day event.) £170, and also involved a sponsored car wash of over 12 cars!
Friday 11th April--coffee morning in aid of the Teifi Branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind raised £175 and also involved a guided walk across the farm to the woodland sculpture trail.
Friday 14th March--The coffee morning in aid of the Cardigan Branch of the Red Cross raised £321 for their Anniversary Campaign. We also planted 91 apple trees to remember the 91 young men from our parish who served during the First World War.
Friday 14th February--Coffee morning in aid of the British Heart Foundation--raised £125.00 for their community defibulator campaign
Friday 10th January 2013--Coffee morning in aid of the Tuberous Sclerosis Association--rased £133 for their awareness and research campaign.
Friday 13th December: To coincide with Human Rights Week, we are holding a Coffee Morning in aid of the British Institute of Human Rights. Working with the local branch of Amnesty International and Newcastle Emlyn School the event starts at 10.30. Everyone is welcome!
Saturday 14th December 2013: Christmas Fair--our third Christmas fair in aid of Pembrokeshire People First
Dozens of stalls, bbq, farm tour.
Friday 15th November--We raised £101.50 at a Coffee Morning in aid of the British Hen Welfare Trust! Over 50 people came and ate some great cake and hear about the work of theBRITISH HEN WELFARE TRUST! For more info about the BHWT see their website: w.bhwt.org.uk
Saturday 16th November: Community Tree planting day--with 420 Wild Harvest Crop Trees donated by the Woodland Trust
Saturday 28th September we raised a little over £1,100 on a sponsored One Mile Wheel to send our first shipping container to Durban, South Africa.
We held a craft fair in December 2012 in aid of Pembrokeshire People First, raising over £900!
Our Summer Fair in July 2013 rasied nearly £500!In 2012/3 we ran Agored Cymru accredited courses in:

We would like to invite you to take part in a Celebration of Inclusive West Wales on Saturday 20th September 2014.
"We were lucky enough to win the Best Access for the Disabled Visitor at the Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards last year," said Jim Bowen, Clynfyw’s Manager, "And we are proud to be sponsoring that award this year. There is so much good practice in West Wales and we believe it should be celebrated and promoted. It sometimes feels like access, inclusion and social responsibility are not worth shouting about in tourism circles, but we believe that they are! So many people depend on inclusive providers, and we want to help promote that."
The celebration will run from 10.30- 3.30. There will be information stands from tourism operators and access/inclusion related providers and talks from groups including Pembrokeshire People First, demographically-specific tourism support groups, and experts in Total Communication. We will be promoting the event far and wide to local and national press, on social media and other contacts we have made from nearly 30 years in accessible tourism.There will also be a barbecue, teas, coffees and cakes available throughout the day, as well as a farm walk if you want to make a day of it. The cost of having a stand is £10, which goes towards Clynfyw’s Wheelie Good Idea project, sending refurbished wheelchairs and mobility aids to South Africa.The celebration is hosted by Clynfyw Care Farm with support from Pembrokeshire Tourism and Pembrokeshire County Council. Please let us know by the 1st September if you would like to have a stand.
